Formally known as the Wanganui RSA, in late 2018 the premises sold and re-opened as THE BARRACKS Sports Bar and Restaurant under the new owner Denise Vincent. Whilst there have been a few changes of the look, there is more than just a nod to The Old RSA.

What’s not to love about vodka made with cake! Good Bones uses everything from leftover bakery goods to beer and fruit in their unique and incredibly smooth tasting vodka. Distilled on site at LADS, you will see Good Bones as a back drop to many Whanganui bands as they perform in front of the distillery.

In the heart of Whanganui, New Zealand, four different guys united by a love for good beer have set up an independent craft brewery and bar.

LADS has had a massive impact on the Whanganui music scene, hosting live music most Saturday's and Sundays, also supporting open mic afternoons for up and coming talent. 

A recording studio and label located in Whanganui New Zealand. The label was created in 2024 and is run by Brian Baker. They cater for New Zealand artists, focusing on short run vinyl releases but also release on CD, Digital platforms and cassette.
