Tamsyn was born in California, but her story truly took root when she moved to New Zealand at the age of 11. Her early life was marked by a nomadic existence, as her family moved between cities, instilling in her a sense of impermanence. Yet, she found her grounding in Whanganui, where her roots now run deep.

Her journey has been shaped by a mix of light and shadow—dramatic highs and lows that mirror the complexities of her inner world. She’s drawn to music that resonates deeply, whether it makes her heart race or her eyes well up, though she readily admits to not always knowing the artist or even getting the lyrics right. Over time, she discovered a love for creating her own music, a passion sparked after several missteps. Everything changed when she picked up her Tanglewood guitar—aptly named, as it seemed to wrap her in its embrace. From that moment on, she and the guitar became inseparable.

Tamsyn embraces life with a bold, impulsive spirit. She's not afraid to dive headfirst into her passions, even if swimming isn't her strongest suit. After all, in her words, "What's the worst that can happen?"​
